Nostalgia
My second semester-project was realised in cooperation with one of my fellow design students, Julia Emmrich. “Nostalgia” is the combination of two words: “Nostos” is the Greek expression for the return of a hero from war, for example. “Algos” simply means pain. We interpreted nostalgia as a feeling of painful sadness whilst looking back to things that are gone forever. Our knitwear outfit materializes with its smoked details, the big head and the part over the heart how to protect yourself from getting lost in the past.
